Contest Overview – Terms and Conditions

The Northern Miner, a subsidiary of EarthLabs Inc., is the Organizer of the Treasure Hunt Contest. The Official Rules and Regulations are available at https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

The Total Prize Pool is CAD$1,335,637 or 289 one-ounce gold coins, based on the spot price of gold on the Valuation Date. The Prizes are:

1. Grand Prize: 217 one-ounce gold coins (~CAD$1,000,000)

2. 12 Monthly Bonus Prizes: 72 one-ounce gold coins total (6 coins or ~CAD$27,729 per prize). Bonus Prizes will be made available once per month for 12 months.

A Treasure Box related to the Grand Prize and each of the Bonus Prizes will be located in one or more provinces or territories of Canada.

No Purchase Necessary

No purchase is necessary to participate in the Contest.

Treasure Format

Each prize is tied to a physical Treasure Box hidden somewhere in Canada. Inside a Treasure Box is a unique alphanumeric code.

To locate the Treasure Box, you need to solve The Poem, the master clue which will guide you to the Treasure Box. You must accept the Official Rules and Regulations in order to gain access to The Poem. https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

Redemption

Participants must locate the hidden Treasure Box, as provided for in the Official Rules and Regulations, in order to redeem the Grand Prize or a Bonus Prize.

Redemption requires:

• Submission of the unique alphanumeric code via the submission link 
• Upload of a photo showing the claimed Treasure Box or location
• Provision of full name, valid email address, and telephone number for verification purposes
• Acceptance of the Official Rules and Regulations.

Bonus Clues

Bonus clues for both the Grand Prize and each Bonus Prize may be distributed through EarthLabs media channels:

• CrashLabs Podcast
• EarthLabs Expeditions

Subscribers to The Northern Miner and EarthLabs other media channels will have access to bonus clues on the day of their release and to a consolidation of the bonus clues. Non-subscribers may request a bonus clue by emailing treasure@northernminer.com on or after the day of the release of the bonus clue. 

Contest Period

The Contest will start on August 13, 2025 and will continue until 12:00 midnight on December 31, 2026. All claims must be made by 12:00 midnight, December 31, 2026. If a claim is not made by December 31, 2026, the claim will be forfeited and the prize will not be awarded.

Eligibility

The Contest is open to individuals who reside in Canada and who are (i) 18 years of age or older, or (ii) of legal age in the province or territory in which the individual resides.

A participant in the Contest must accept the Official Rules and Regulations in order to participate in the Contest and to win a Prize. The Official Rules and Regulations are available at https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

Employees, officers, contractors, and immediate family members of EarthLabs Inc., The Northern Miner, and all affiliated brands and sponsors are not eligible to participate in the Contest or to win any Prize.

Liability Limitations

The Organizer, its affiliates and other Released Parties are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from participation in the Contest or the use of any Prize. The Official Rules and Regulations set out the details related to the limitation of liability and the definition of Released Parties.

Data Collection

Personal information collected from Participants will be used to administer the Contest and for the other purposes set out in the Official Rules and Regulations, including (but not limited to) for purposes of promotions, marketing, identify verification, communications with Participants, and compliance with the law.  

 Jurisdiction

This Contest and all matters arising out of or relating to the Contest are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. The domestic laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein shall apply to residents of the Province of Quebec.

Concours de la chasse au trésor

The Northern Miner, une filiale de EarthLabs Inc. est l’Organisateur du Concours de la chasse au trésor. Le Règlement officiel est disponible à l’adresse https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

 La cagnotte totale est de 1 335 637 $CAD ou 289 pièces d’or d’une once, selon le Prix au comptant de l’or à la date d’évaluation. Les Prix sont les suivants :

1. Grand Prix : 217 pièces d’une once d’or (~1 000 000 $CAD)

Aucun achat n’est nécessaire

Aucun achat n’est nécessaire pour participer au Concours.

Format du trésor

Chaque Prix est lié à une Boîte à Trésor physique cachée quelque part au Canada. À l’intérieur de la Boîte à Trésor se trouve un code alphanumérique unique.

Pour localiser la Boîte à Trésor, vous devez résoudre le Poème, l’indice principal qui vous guidera jusqu’à la Boîte à Trésor. Vous devez accepter le Règlement officiel pour avoir accès au Poème. https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

Réclamation

Les Participants doivent localiser la Boîte à Trésor cachée, comme le prévoit le Règlement officiel, afin d’obtenir le Grand Prix ou un Prix Bonus.

La réclamation nécessite :

• la soumission du code alphanumérique unique via le lien de soumission https://form.typeform.com/to/tmnxbJI1
• le téléchargement d’une photo montrant la Boîte à Trésor ou l’emplacement réclamé
• l’indication du nom complet, d’une adresse électronique valide et d’un numéro de téléphone du Participant à des fins de vérification d’identité
• l’acceptation du Règlement official par le Participant

Indices bonus

Les indices bonus pour le Grand Prix et chaque Prix Bonus peuvent être distribués par l’intermédiaire des canaux médiatiques d’EarthLabs :

Les abonnés à The Northern Miner et aux autres canaux médiatiques d’EarthLabs auront accès aux indices bonus le jour de leur publication et à une consolidation des indices bonus. Les non-abonnés peuvent demander un indice bonus en envoyant un courriel à treasure@northernminer.com le jour de la publication de l’indice bonus ou après. 

Période du Concours

Le Concours débutera le 13 août 2025 et se poursuivra jusqu’au 31 décembre 2026 à minuit. Toutes les réclamations doivent être faites avant minuit, le 31 décembre 2026. Si une réclamation n’est pas faite avant le 31 décembre 2026, la réclamation sera annulée et le Prix ne sera pas attribué.

Éligibilité

Le Concours est ouvert aux personnes résidant au Canada et qui sont (i) âgées de 18 ans ou plus, ou (ii) ayant l’âge légal dans la province ou le territoire où elles résident.

Tout Participant au Concours doit accepter le Règlement officiel pour pouvoir participer au Concours et gagner un Prix. Le Règlement officiel est disponible à l’adresse suivante : https://treasure.northernminer.com/legal.

Les employés, les dirigeants, les sous-traitants et leurs membres de la famille immédiate d’EarthLabs Inc, The Northern Miner et toutes les marques affiliées ne sont pas autorisés à participer au Concours ou à gagner un Prix.

Limites de responsabilité

L’Organisateur, ses sociétés affiliées et les autres Parties déchargées ne sont pas responsables des pertes ou dommages résultant de la participation au Concours ou de l’utilisation d’un Prix. Le Règlement officiel contient les détails relatifs à la limitation de responsabilité et à la définition des Parties déchargées.

Collecte de données

Les informations personnelles collectées auprès des Participants seront utilisées pour gérer le Concours et à d’autres fins énoncées dans le Règlement officiel, y compris (mais sans s’y limiter) à des fins de promotion, de marketing, de vérification de l’identité, de communication avec les Participants et de respect de la loi. 

 Juridiction compétente

Ce Concours et toutes les questions découlant du Concours ou s’y rapportant sont régis par les lois de la province de l’Ontario et les lois du Canada qui s’y appliquent, et doivent être interprétés conformément à ces lois. Les lois de la province de Québec et les lois du Canada qui y sont applicables s’appliquent aux résidents de la province de Québec.
